In case you hadn’t heard, way back when, sliced bread was first sold in Missouri.
That’s right Chillicothe, MO is the Home of Sliced Bread.

Now folks are pushing for new legislature declaring July 7 as Missouri Sliced Bread Day.
The first comercially sliced loaf was sold in the town in 1928.
The final vote on the bill could take place in the week.
If approved by the House members, the bill would still need to pass the Senate.
