Adele is heading into the final stretch of her shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and over the weekend, she stopped the show to pay tribute to the woman who pioneered the modern Vegas residency: Céline Dion.

In fan-captured video, Adele is seen walking through the audience while singing “When We Were Young,” and stops in front of Céline. The two embrace and Adele starts crying; Céline cups Adele’s face in her hands and then kisses her hand. As Adele moves away, Céline wipes her eyes.

When Adele came back to the stage, she called Céline one of her “favorite people.”

It was a full circle moment: Back in 2018, Adele visited Céline backstage at her own residency, which also took place at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Canadian superstar was set to launch an entirely new residency at Resorts World Las Vegas in November of 2021, but had to cancel it after revealing her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome.

Adele’s final show in Vegas is set to take place Nov. 23.  She previously said that when she’s completed her performances, she’s going to take a long break.
