While Greene county remains one of the top counties in the state for domestic violence, the prosecutor’s office is aiming to offer more services with the recently created Domestic Violence Unit. 

The unit focuses solely on prosecuting domestic violence cases- from assault, violations of order protections, stalking and harassment.

Prosecutors with the county- six in total for the unit- have received advanced training to properly analyze each case presented.

The formation of the unit comes shortly after the creation of the Family Justice Center.

The center, which is the only location in the state of Missouri, combines resources for those experiencing domestic violence to receive the necessary aid- from safety planning and crisis intervention to legal aid.
