The MTV Video Music Awards have announced its first round of performers scheduled to hit the stage at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center Sept. 12. Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello, Lorde, Machine Gun Kelly and Olivia Rodrigo are all set to perform at the event. Leading the VMA nominees are Justin Bieber and Megan Thee Stallion with seven and six nominations, respectively.

Rodrigo is a first-time performer and nominee who is up for five awards, including ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year.’ MGK will also make his VMAs debut to premiere his new single “papercuts” from his upcoming album “Born With Horns.”

This year’s ceremony will honor the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by working with the nonprofit ‘9/11 Day’ on a series of events to promote awareness around the day’s upcoming 20th anniversary.
