Cheslie Kryst, former Miss USA 2019 and a correspondent for the entertainment news program “Extra,” has died after a fall from her high-rise Manhattan apartment building at the age of 30.

Krysts family has stated, “Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”

Her body was found on her apartment building sidewalk Sunday morning, January 30th.

Her family did not provide a cause of death, but sources in the New York Police Department have confirmed that Kryst has died by suicide, according to the Post and The Hollywood ReporterThe Post reported that Kryst had left behind a note leaving her possessions to her mother.

“May this day bring you peace and rest,” Kryst wrote in an Instagram caption posted just hours before her fatal fall.
