Kelly Clarkson says she and her kids are in a "magical place" right now

Weiss Eubanks/NBC Universal

Kelly Clarkson took a big chance uprooting her life and moving with her kids across the country to New York City to film her talk show, but she says they're having the best time.

Speaking to Access, Kelly says, "I feel free just to like do anything. I think opportunity and possibilities are endless. We're in a magical place, me and my kids, and my circle, it's really great."

Kelly says her favorite part of living in New York is "walking around," adding, "You have to immerse yourself in the place that you're living, and I never did that in LA -- only Texas or Nashville -- so it's nice to do here. I love it."

Discussing her pre-show ritual, Kelly admits, "Usually, I'm learning the Kellyoke [cover songs] on the way to the stage!" And that's not because she's such a quick study, it's because she has very little time to prepare for each performance.

"It's just, there's too many songs," she explains. "You can try to be as prepared as you want but there's 180 songs a season and then usually we're doing other projects .... it's not that you wanna be ill-prepared ... there's not enough time to really rehearse."

Recently, Kelly performed Katy Perry's song "Wide Awake," prompting Katy to write on social media, "Ok dang I can never sing that again."

Taylor Swift spotted celebrating friend's birthday solo in West Hollywood

Just because Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are temporarily on vacation from their respective jobs doesn't mean they have to be joined at the hip.

Case in point: TMZ has pics of Taylor joining a group of friends at the West Hollywood bar Barney's Beanery on April 4, and Travis was nowhere in sight. Taylor spent a couple of hours at the event, and nobody bothered her, TMZ reports.

Her security guards stayed outside, and on the way out, one of them paid the tab.

Travis has been spotted out doing his own thing as well, including having a meal with his brother, Jason Kelce, in LA, golfing with his friend and doing multiple interviews to promote his upcoming music festival, Kelce Jam.

Taylor's new album, The Tortured Poets Department, comes out April 19. The next leg of The Eras Tour launches May 9 in France. Travis has already said he would go support her on some of her European dates.

In theaters Friday: 'The First Omen'

20th Century Studios

A prequel to the Oscar-winning 1976 horror classic The Omen — commonly listed among the scariest movies of all time — The First Omen hits theaters Friday.

The first film dealt with a family unwittingly adopting the Antichrist in the form of a little boy named Damien, and the prequel sets up how that little boy came to be.

In the new movie, Nell Tiger Free plays Margaret Daino, a young American training to becoming a nun. She is tapped to work at an orphanage in Rome but comes to uncover "a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate."

Free tells ABC Audio she was well-acquainted with the Richard Donner classic that came out more than two decades before she was born. "I was very, very familiar. It's one of my favorite, favorite horror films of all time," the actress says.

"I watched it for the first time, when I was really young, I was like, 11," she confesses with a laugh, before explaining, "Yeah, I used to watch films that were wildly inappropriate for my age range on a regular basis, without my parents knowing."

She said her young self was "sufficiently traumatized" by the original film and notes she's revisited over the years, explaining, the film "stands the test of time and is still traumatizing to this day."

Free adds, "So they were big shoes to fill. And hey -- listen, I'm one of them -- horror fans, we're all pretty intense. Like, we take it seriously. Especially something that's like a horror dynasty, like The Omen. You know, it's like you can't really get that wrong."

"I'm not gonna lie to you, it was a little bit of pressure!" she adds with a laugh.

Tony Curran on developing chemistry with Nicholas Galitzine for 'Mary & George'

"History’s hottest affair" comes to life in the new limited series Mary & George, which premieres its first episode Friday on Starz.

The show follows Mary and George Villiers, played by Julianne Moore and heartthrob Nicholas Galitzine, as they manipulate King James I into falling for the latter to boost their status and power.

Tony Curran plays the English monarch, who spoke to ABC Audio about developing chemistry with Galitzine before shooting their romantic scenes.

“For the first few weeks, we were in the same hotel. And he was prepping, I was prepping. We started texting each other, and I think it was quite apparent by the corresponding text messages that both of us had a very fun sense of humor,” Curran said.

Mary & George may take place during the 17th century, but Curran says it feels as fresh as now.

“The first thing I thought was so interesting and fascinating about it was how character driven the story was and how it was about this Jacobean period, [the] little known 23-year reign of King James, that we haven't heard too much about in television or film, and how contemporary it felt,” Curran said. “The very fruity vernacular language, it's very uncompromising in its delivery.”

While the series shows King James having many male lovers, Curran says he doesn’t believe it to be the focus of the project.

“I think the story has queer elements to it but it's not, like, a story, per se, about a queer king. It is, obviously. But I think there's a more human story as well," Curran said.

The actor continued, saying King James “was deeply trying to find some sort of meaning” in life.

“When you can't find meaning, you'll find distraction,” Curran said. “I think he definitely found meaning in George Villiers.”
